New Restaurant Added to West Street Market

Written By: Farah Vitale

West Street Market is switching up it’s culinary options, including adding a new restaurant! Café DeLuxe will open soon sometime in the spring as “DeLuxe,” in the old Niko’s Greek Kitchen spot off West Street Market’s inside common area. They serve excellent vegetarian and vegan food. They closed their location on Wells Avenue in May of 2016 to make way for new housing development. They’ve been on the hunt for a new spot, wanting to keep their business small and manageable.

West Street Market is bringing in Cafe DeLuxe and updating Thali.

They will keep a lot of their old menu from Cafe DeLuxe, while adding more Asian menu items. People will be able to order organic banhi mi and slaws, super-size summer rolls, rice and quinoa bowls, and possibly really big sushi rolls. Because of it’s size, the restaurant will be more of a casual dining spot.

Also Thali, a pop-up that serves all vegetarian, organic Northern Indian cooking, will become more permanent to West Street. They took the spot of Bowl and Rawr a while back but will offer more stable changes. They will serve dinner from Friday through Monday but may start offering lunch as well. They are also considering neighborhood delivery and will add new regional menus. Thali focuses on organic ingredients and  on the home cooking of a single region. Thali serves Punjabi food four nights a week. Then at the end of February, the restaurant will introduce dishes prepared by a guest cook from Southern India for a week.
