For those of you living on Mars these days, Reno is pretty great. This custom brewery includes rare items and experimental favorites along with their locals membership club. • The Gateway: Red Rye Lager, 7.3% ABV
  • The Session: Pilsner, 4.9% ABV
  • Grad School: Black Wheat Wine, 11% ABV

Named after the stunningly creepy painting of a man with a pigeon head on his shoulders done by a friend of co-owner Eddie Silvera, Pigeon Head is a unique and dynamic staple to the Reno brewing scene. Located in the shadow of the Wells Avenue overpass, this industrial-looking taproom gives way to some rare and interesting brews unlike any other place in town. Pigeon Head specializes in lagers with clean, bottom-fermented flavor, as well as many specialty beers and a wheat wine, similar to a barley wine. Also available are tasters or you can opt for a whole flight if you’re feeling adventurous!

These in-house brewed beers are unique and one of a kind, but beer aficionados shouldn’t waste time on simple options as there are so many extravagant choices for those brave enough! As Depot is also a distillery, the crafted spirits on hand include vodka and gin as well as house-made whiskey. An in-specialty is the Biggest Little Bourbon, one that the brewer/distiller sampled from 10 different bourbons before deciding on the perfect combination of three. Whether you’re into the brews or the bourbons, depot is a definitely a must-have on your Reno brew tour.
