Northern Nevada’s animal welfare groups are going to hold “Super Pet Adoption Day” in Reno on Saturday, October 14th. The event is scheduled at Rancho San Rafael Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be dogs, cats and small animals available for you to give a home.

Nevada Humane Society

The organizations involved in Super Pet Adoption Day are:

Each center will work together to help out the entire community and animals. It will truly be a special day for everyone. The Nevada Humane Society has been growing since 1932 when they first started. They have expanded to Carson City to further their reach. The Nevada Humane Society has become a national model for animal sheltering. They have a 95% lifesaving rate and educate other shelters on animal sheltering.

The SPCA has also been a model for others as the first no-kill animal shelter. Their foster care program has been a huge success and helps them to save even more animals at a time. And thanks to their Shelter Feeding Program, the SPCA of Northern Nevada was able to feed animals at over 45 shelters with more than a million dollars worth of food.

For Super Pet Adoption Day, be sure to bring your entire family to find the next member of you family! There will be food trucks, drinks,  and music in the park. Each group or shelter has its own adoption process, policies and fees.  All dogs and cats will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and most of them, microchipped. Washoe County Regional Animal Services will be providing free microchipping.
