Automobile Museum Adds NASA Space Center Exhibit
Written By: Farah Vitale
The National Automobile Museum has created a brand new NASA exhibit called The National Space Center. It will be a permanent exhibit, complete with simulators, state-of-the-art video game technology and real data collected by NASA. This is an exciting time for the exhibit with all the recent findings from NASA. So, for example, their recent Juno mission to Jupiter where they rediscovered the planet in a new way.
The museum will feature a collection of spacesuits and artifacts from NASA missions.
There will also be memorabilia, an actual rover along with the NASA artifacts. The Space Center exhibit will let visitors can pilot their own crew of virtual experts. They will do this through stages that involve touchscreen stations, artifacts and interactive simulator pods. They’ll also get to use and ID card that tracks their progress, for multiple visits.
Right now the exhibit is called “Rovers: Exploring the Moon, Mars and Beyond.” When the Russians wanted to explore the Moon in the 1960s, they built and sent the first rover. America sent humans. But to go further and faster, America also built a rover. And now a fleet of small “cars on Mars” have been deployed on the Red Planet. The exhibit allows guests to discover past, present and future of Rovers. NASA’s goal is to have humans on Mars in the 2030’s. What else is NASA working on? Well they’re about to announce a mission to touch the sun. Yeah, no big deal.
