The Reno-Tahoe Winter has settled in for the season, bringing both cold temperatures and snow. Weather in the area is typically unpredictable for the next few months, with snow previously falling into June. While these cold months can be awfully glum, there’s no better time to plan a warm getaway. Whether they be quick weekend trips or week-long vacations, here are a few West Coast destinations to defrost…

San Diego, CA

With average temperatures not dropping below 66 degrees year-round, San Diego is an ideal weather escape. With an oceanfront county stretching North from Carlsbad down South to Downtown, the destinations throughout are endless. Keep busy with a visit to Balboa Park or plentiful golf courses, or relax beach side for a few days.

Catalina Island

 Located off of Los Angeles’ coast, Catalina is a wonderful location that can avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. Reachable by a short ferry trip from various ports in the greater county, this secluded island is a hidden gem. There’s a little something for everyone here with shopping, dining, trails and water activities for entertainment throughout.

 

 

Monterey, CA

For easier travel, the greater Monterey area including Carmel-By-The-Sea, is an easy drive from the Reno-Tahoe area. With warmer weather than ours, this seaside destination is ideal for a quick getaway. Monterey’s Peninsula is full of history, attractions such as the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, and quaint, relaxing neighborhoods.
