Reno Won Big at the 2018 Best of Craft Beer Awards

The 2018 Best of Craft Beer Awards took place Jan. 26-28 in Bend, Oregon. Bend is a town in East Oregon that has become one of the country’s top beer spots in the last 10 years. But our Biggest Little City is known for having awesome local breweries. Reno took home nine medals.

There were 86 beer categories awarding gold, silver and bronze medals.

The different categories include ales, lagers, and hybrid/mixed lagers. Also, breweries from nearly every state in the union, plus Colombia, Canada and Belgium entered 10,000 entries covering 156 different beer styles. So the winners from Reno were: Brasserie Saint James, Great Basin Brewing Co., and IMBĪB Custom Brews. Also, they took home nine medals in all, and five of them were gold.

Brasserie Saint James: 

Gold – Belgian Style Lambic, Fruit Lambic or Gueuze Lambic category, Lambic Grand Cru

Bronze – American Origin Lager Styles category, Santiago

 

IMBĪB Cutsom Brews:

Gold – Belgian-Style Flanders Oud Bruin or Oud Red Ale category, IMBĪB Flanders Red Ale

           – Berliner-Style Weisse with Fruit or Flavor Added category, Huckleberry Nevada Weisse

           – Mixed-Culture Brett Beer or Wild Beer category, Abiogenesis #5
