Check Out Cheetahs and Tigers at Animal Ark
Written By: Farah Vitale
The Animal Ark wildlife sanctuary and education center has animals including tigers, cheetahs, bears, wolves, birds of prey, big cats, and many other species. The Ark runs across 38 acres of land with trails for people to walk while watching their favorite animals and exotic species roam. Animals from disadvantaged situations come to the Ark because they can’t be released back into the wild. They are ambassadors for their species while at the Ark!
The Animal Ark’s mission is to inspire environmental stewardship through education.
To support this mission, Animal Ark hosted the Paws & Claws Gala on Sept. 24th. The Gala was a chance for the community to watch wildlife species, and also meet the animal experts. There was also an open bar, plated dinner and silent and live auctions. Not to mention, the Cheetah run which ended the night of them running off the leash. A truly amazing sight. Being an educational facility, the community is able to learn more about wildlife from their visit. They are here to take care of the animals and give them a permanent home for the rest of their lives. There aren’t many facilities that are able to care for them. So, without the Ark, the animals would be euthanized.
These animal experts are happy to share all the animals’ stories. This month in October, there will be two events coming up. There is the Harvest Festival on Oct. 14th, and the final Cheetah Run of the season on Oct. 21st.
