Fun Spring Events Coming Up

This weather is warming up and it’s the perfect time to get outside. Reno has some cool events coming up to enjoy outside with your friends and family!

Biggest Little Half Marathon

Gear up to run under the Reno Arch! Take part in either a 5k, 10k or half marathon run with your friends and family on March 25th sponsored by the City of Reno. The race starts under the Reno Arch and then goes through  MidTown District (for the Half Marathon only), the Truckee River Path, Idlewild Park, and then back to downtown Reno. There will be aid stations with water and electrolyte drinks ready for runners. There’s also prizes for each category. Each race has seven age categories, male and female, for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

WinterWonderGrass Festival

The perfect spring festival has three things: Music, Brews and Mountains. This festival features 25 bluegrass and acoustic roots bands along with California craft beers, wines, spirits and tons of food. Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is the presenting Brewer this year. The festival is located in Squaw Valley with a beautiful mountain view, perfecting for dancing and mingling with friends and family. It also has a strong environmental program diverting over 80% of festival waste from landfills. This event is also kid-friendly with a colorful kid’s zone including face painting, hula hooping and crafts. It’s held March 31st, April 1st and 2nd.

Reno Earth Day 2017

Celebrate the planet with your friends in the biggest little city! Idlewid Park will feature more than 350 exhibits and activities for all ages.There will be arts & crafts, sustainability businesses and resources and local non-profit organizations. The activities include specialty foods, local breweries, workshops, rallies, games and prizes.  This year’s theme is “The Natural World, Clean and Green Technologies and Many Cultures.” It’s held on April 23rd from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
