Spectacular Holiday Lights in Reno

Reno’s downtown isn’t the only thing lighting up the skyline this holiday season.

This December, with the chilly weather and holiday spirit upon us, light-seeing is the season’s go-to evening family activity! Enjoying hot cocoa or cider and checking out all of the spectacular holiday lights in Reno is just the thing to spark a festive light inside each and every one of us.

Lights of Tanea: CANCELLED for 2015

The biggest little favorite will not be lighting up Reno this year, as they have chosen to take the season off. Lights of Tanea is scheduled to reappear for the 2016 season though and will continue their support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Check out the countdown here!

Jeff Kendell’s

Although he did not win USA Today’s “America’s Best Private Holiday Lights” contest, his house is still a beautiful masterpiece of lights and music synchronization. Just down Mt. Rose Highway from Montrêux at 2380 Solitude Drive, it’s hard to miss his 30,000 bulbs that light his home and yard. This is one of Reno’s most decorated homes and it is definitely a must-see for the 2015 holiday season!

City of Reno Tree

Reno’s downtown holiday tree is located at its original location at the corner of 1st and Virginia between City Hall and the Truckee River (where the downtown ice rink used to be located). The tree was lit on November 25 this year, so head downtown, grab your hot cocoa and enjoy the beauty.

Sparks Hometowne Christmas

Be sure to get the whole family out for the Sparks Community Tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 4 at 6:30 pm. The tree is located at the Saint Mary’s Amphitheater on Victorian Avenue and symbolizes the kick-off to the Sparks Hometowne Christmas celebration and parade which will occur on Saturday December 5, at 1 pm. Great activities for the whole family and the whole community!

Outlets at Sparks & Summit Mall

While the Outlets at Sparks did not have a tree lighting ceremony, the Summit Mall celebrated early with a concert and fireworks display on November 21. They are still great places to go if you want to see beautiful holiday lighting displays! With the trees decked out in gorgeous lights thanks to a few fabulous local lighting companies, your holiday shopping just got a lot prettier.
