Circus Circus Opens Two New Restaurants

Written By: Farah Vitale

The Circus Circus casino is opening up two new restaurants, Kanpai Sushi and El Jefe’s Cantina. Eldorado Resorts Inc. created a $50 million re-investment plan during Fall 2016. The plan includes creating unique eateries in each of the Circus Circus, the Silver Legacy and the Eldorado. They want you to cross the casino and into a totally different region of cuisine. Reno is constantly in progress of adding more diverse culinary options and now the casinos are getting in on it too.

Circus Circus’ upgrade will be exciting for both locals and visitors.

Of all the casinos, Circus Circus has had the least strongest dining experiences. Silver Legacy is know for their delicious Sterling’s Seafood Steakhouse and the Eldorado has popular eateries including all you can eat sushi. Circus Circus’ new addition Kanpai Sushi will surely be a hit in our sushi obsessed town. The El Jefe roll is one of their tasty rolls. It a cooked roll that features crystal shrimp, seared tuna, spicy crab and a special sauce made of shallots and eel sauce cooked down. There is also the Kanpai roll that includes salmon, tuna and yellowtail. Some rolls feature jalepeno for a Hispanic flare. A la carte items include creamy ahi and salmon with sesame seeds.

The next restaurant, El Jefe’s Cantina, will have a big menu with ten sections. They are: Fire and ice ceviche, from the raw bar section, leads the fusion approach, uniting yellowtail, Asian pear granita, Thai chilis, and a red onion, jicama and cilantro salad. El Jefe’s menu combines some Chinese cuisine so you’ll see items such as ginger beef meatballs with melted manchego cheese. The one thing the Circus Circus doesn’t have that the other casinos do is night life. So El Jefe will turn into a nightclub with a DJ booth at night, much like Brew Brothers in the Eldorado. These new additions are sure to be crowd pleasers.
