Chopped Contestant Joins Blend Catering

Written By: Farah Vitale

Former Chopped contestant, Clint Jolly and local chefs Josh and Whitney Deri are merging their companies together to start Blend Catering. The Deri’s  wanted to combine their business with Jolly’s Great Thyme Catering to form one of the region’s largest wedding and event catering spots. This will expand their services to Reno-Tahoe, Sierra Nevada and wine country areas, as well as greater regional reach.

Blend Catering was already award winning, but now they can go even farther.

Blend has already won twice for the Reno/Tahoe chapter of the National Association for Catering. They’ve also won Event’s Caterer of the Year for 2015 and 2016, and a 2017 Best of B&B. But that’s not all! Blend has partnered with Reno-Tahoe events and companies including TEDx, Tannenbaum events center, Reno Bites, Urban Roots, Greenhouse Project, Sample the Sierra and Yelp’s Ronald McDonald House Home Away from Home.

Jolly is a 2016 champion of Food Network’s CHOPPED: Impossible Restaurant Challenge and was a finalist in the 2016 New Orleans Farm to Table Chef’s Challenge. He created Great Thyme catering in 2007 serving weddings, corporate and social events. He is also the founder of Reno Bites Week and continues to offer consulting to restaurant start-ups, culinary suppliers and other culinary and food enterprises. His collab with Blend Catering will be exciting for Reno! Blend Catering sells unique flavor combinations ranging from exotic flavors to local favorites. They cater everything from weddings to large corporate events to private dinners and backyard barbecues. Be sure to get them on your list!
