United Airlines will be offering non-stop flights from Reno to Chicago this summer. The service will be available 7 days a week starting June 8th. The Reno-Chicago flights will be on Boeing 737’s with 143 seats available. The trip from Reno leave at 11:20 p.m. and will arrive in Chicago at 5 a.m. The trip from Chicago will depart at 7:35 p.m. and arrive in Reno at 9:45 p.m. But the flights are only available during the summer months. This is a seasonal service for busy summer and business travel, so it ends September 5th.

It’s up to the community to book the flights this summer and keep the service alive.

The Reno-Tahoe International Airport has recently added several other flights while recovering from the recession. Just last year, the airport added nonstop daily flights to Oakland, San Jose, and Dallas Love Field through Southwest Airlines. They also added trips to Atlanta via Delta Airlines, Long Beach via JetBlue, and Orange County via Alaska Airlines. The airport hadn’t had a passenger increase for 10 years before adding new flights in 2015. In 2016, they also obtained their highest annual growth in passenger numbers since 2004, which was more than 3.65 million passengers.

They also had their best year for cargo service, with more than 156.4 million pounds of air cargo. The airport has gone under plenty of renovations and is continuing to grow in flights and with the amount of people flying. The airport is such an important part of Reno and they are working hard to make sure it has the most important, convenient and in-demand fights available.
