CREATE: A Space for Arts & Crafts is a place for all ages to to learn various crafting projects hands on. They offer a variety of crafting workshops each week. You can learn string art, jewelry making, and scrap booking. There’s also hand-painting wine glasses, pallet wood sign art, wind chimes and creating holiday/seasonal home decor. The list goes on!
A variety of Reno-based artists and makers teach every class.
The owners, Tracy MacEchern-Clopton and her husband Jim, hire local artists and makers to provide jobs. The local art community is growing working at CREATE will help artists showcase their skills. Tracy is a hairdresser but has always loved creating so she created a place for people to develop and learn new techniques. She said she’s always open to hiring more teachers. It’s a chance for everyone in the community to become artists. She believes crafts are a great stress reliever and a fun way to learn how to focus. There are different levels of classes that can even test your own crafting abilities.
Tracy also offers her space for special events, holiday and birthday parties and corporate team building exercises. Some upcoming workshops include Vinyl Record Painting, Harry Potter Wand, Nevada String Art, Vintage Window Chalkboard, and Cafe Pallet Wood Sign. The classes cost $35 each and run for about an hour and a half from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Unless stated on event description, they provide all the art supplies so just bring your friends!
