Reno Ace’s is making over the Greater Nevada Field and the Mr.Baseball for the new season. The field will feature a new video display from Daktronics are being added to the field. C&H Baseball will put in new wall pads on the outfield fences, foul-territory walls and dugout rails. They will replace the old existing pads, which were installed ahead during the Aces’ 2009 season.
The field will have more art and glamour to the Reno Aces.
The field already has two murals, both in the home plate gate entrance, so now they will be adding a third. The Reno Aces will also be extending their partnership with the Sierra Arts for an additional three years. They will be putting in artwork in the suite level to replace last year’s displays. They’re excited to connect art to the Ace’s as Reno is working to increase art in the community. This season they will also be bringing back strobe lights. The strobe lights will go off on Aces home runs and 1868 FC goals, among other great plays and moments in favor of the home team.
Mr. Baseball, who watches the game beyond the batter’s eye in center, will also be getting a cool new makeover this season. He hasn’t had an appearance change since 2009 and fans think it’s time he stepped up his look! Although his outer appearance will change, his voice will remain the same for his famed “Seventh-Inning Stretch.” This is exciting news for Aces and baseball fans as we haven’t seen too many changes to the field over the years.
