Reno unveils “Master Plan”
Written By: Celeste Harper
ReImagine Reno is the Biggest Little City’s multi-year project in efforts to reexamine the way our city is perceived as well as designed.
The City’s “Master Plan” has been released to the public.
The vision, required steps and timeline for this project are explained in this master document. A survey was conducted in April 2015 to members of the Reno community to find out their vision for Reno in the next 20+ years. Answers included: becoming a base for outdoor activities, being an art and culture center, and to advance as a college and technology driven region.
The project will not be completed until 2036. However, phase I of the project has been finished. And phase II has been underway for the last year. Becoming a “well connected city and region” and also keeping our growth “responsible and well managed” are two of the eight guided principles for the project. If you are interested in becoming involved with the creation of Reno’s future public meetings will be taking place. Plans will be solidified by September 2017.
