4 New Dining Hot Spots in Reno
There is always something new happening in Reno-Tahoe and this spring, there are quite a few new dining offerings. From soul food to sushi to cats and coffee and more, there’s no shortage of restaurant choices in northern Nevada.
Enchanted Cat Café
Serving coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks and, most importantly, cat time. Enchanted Cat Café opened on New Year’s Day 2022 and cat time starts at just $15 per hour. The cat lounge is separate from the café and offers dedicated time with the friendly furry felines.
The cats are all adoptable from the Nevada Humane Society, a local nonprofit no-kill shelter. The café is owned by an entrepreneur pair of husband and wife who got the idea from a viral YouTube video.
Coffeebar
Opening its third location, the beloved coffee chain opened its new Reno location in early February. The new location will serve up pizzas from Dopo Pizza & Pasta, a Midtown eatery formerly known as Food + Drink. Both companies are owned by Greg Buchheister, a local dining entrepreneur.
Coffeebar’s two other locations are on Mt. Rose street in Reno and in Truckee, CA. Buchheister hopes to incorporate an authentic Italian café into his portfolio.
Huckleberry’s Breakfast & Lunch
The California-based chain has opened up its first location outside of the state early this year. Taking the spot formerly occupied by the retro Mel’s Diner in South Towne Crossing, Huckleberry’s will be serving up southern cooking with a Cali twist.
The menu has a wide range of New Orleans-style cuisine from the stacked chicken and waffles and Bourbon Street burgers to the bayou chicken sandos and the creole-style catfish.
Crumbl Cookies
The cookie craze that no one should miss out on, late January saw the first northern Nevada location open. Launching in Utah back in 2017, Crumbl Cookies has blossomed into a nationwide sensation with over 300 locations in 36 states.
The shop serves up a weekly rotation of four new flavors, plus the company’s signature classic chocolate chip cookie.
Sapori Italian Kitchen
The latest culinary addition to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe is also a part of the Carano family’s Caesars Entertainment empire. Featuring the famed mushroom ravioli and other signature dishes.
The fine dining establishment features a menu from Chef Ivano Centemeri, the executive chef of La Strada at the Eldorado Resort Casino in Reno.
