Northern Nevada is a gorgeous place year round, but there’s something about the way the leaves change that makes the area feel so dynamic and alive while conveying such a sense of peacefulness.

2. University of Nevada, Reno

The University of Nevada, Reno is a Tier-One school that boasts years of tradition. The brick buildings and many trees are the perfect backdrop for a stellar education, but come fall, the combination of leaves changing to bright yellows and reds along with the crisp autumn air makes the campus a place you want to just sit and enjoy.

3. Windy Hill

Windy Hill is one of the best views in Reno. From the vibrant trees to the high rises to the mountainous back drop, this destination is not a bad place to take a breath.

4. Carson River

If you’re out in Dayton, Nevada this is a must see! The Carson River traverses 5 counties throughout California and Nevada and is home to many different species of plants and animals. Grab a picnic basket and a good book and enjoy the day under this golden canopy of leaves.

5. Washoe Valley

Whether you are just driving through or saddling up for horseback riding, the beautifully hued landscape will light the way.

6. Truckee River

Running throughout Northern California and downtown Reno, the Truckee river is lined with beautiful trees and plants that perfectly convey the dynamic life of the river and the changing of the seasons.

7. Lake Tahoe

8. Nevada State Capital Grounds

By far, Autumn is the best time of year to visit the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City, Nevada. With all of the foliage changing colors at different times, the dynamic of the grounds is exceptional.

9. Squaw Valley

The site of the 1960 Winter Olympics is the perfect place for a fall weekend get-away. The crisp autumn morning air and the saturated color of the trees are the perfect compliments to your outdoor activities.
